Sunday Surprise: The Best Pins from a Busy Week

This was a busy week, and my brain was not at all in the creative of places. I've been hanging out with my wonderful grandparents and have been wrapped up in the Oscar Pistorius trial (inexplicably). But, the good news is that I found some deeply fabulous pins this week, and I want to share them with you. The main theme of today is just "this pin is awesome!"

Interior Design: Marvelous Industrial Chic Lamp Shades
I love ALL of these. Gimme, gimme, gimme. How difficult do we think that these would be to make? Nearly impossible?

Potential DIY: Bow Tie Napkins
This is delightfully girly. I wonder if there would be a way to do this that made it slightly more manly. But, at the end of the day, do we think that Rob would care about the napkins one way or the other? I doubt it. Perhaps I'll try to get some of these little pretties for our dining room table.

Food: Watermelon
I don't know why I have never thought to do this. But, Pinterest strikes again. It's summertime, and I am totally itchin' to try this.

Pets: Silly idea for cat lovers
I don't think I would go so far as to paint a lizard on the wall. But, maybe buy a toy one at the dollar store and attach it with some command strips? My cats would go nuts, once they realized it was there.

Wise Words
Just. Yes.

Photography: Instagram Pillows
I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!! We need some new pillows downstairs, and no lie, this may be just the ticket.

Cute Animals: Swimming Bunny...
Because...swimming bunny.

Life Hack: Camping Light
Description: a head lamp around a gallon jug of water for ambient light inside your tent/camper
What fun pins have you found this week? Any that blew your mind?? Tell me all about them!
See you soon, lovely pinners!

  1. LOVE the lamps! And it's funny because I've been seeing that watermelon pin all over, but my Mom has ALWAYS cut up watermelon like that. :)

  2. napkin- pull the center circle close to one and turn in lengthwise - it might look a little lore manly,,,better if you folded to a pointy end at the bottom

  3. the lamp shades look like old sewing patterns, you know the ones on the really thin paper, glued over a thin shade. Seems totally doable to me.

  4. Why does the bunny need a life jacket? They can swim like most animals... still cute though :)

  5. I love the lampshades - have been meaning to try something similar myself with maps.

The rabbit needs a warning though, that rabbit was a rare case where hydrotherapy is helpful. Rabbits shouldn't normally be in water. :(
