I think it's safe to say that 2020 took everyone by surprise and not it the best of ways. The Coronavirus pandemic affected many areas that have an impact on our day to day life, sports being one of those areas. I'm pretty sure I'm not talking only about me when I say that sport was one of the things that I neglected severely during this pandemic situation but things are slowly getting back to normal and I really have high hopes that next year we can enjoy outdoor sports to the maximum!

With that being said, here are 5 must-try sports for 2021.

Climbing

This is a sport that trains your whole body and challenges your mind. You have to be very focused on what you're doing and go on even if your muscles tend to give up. Like with any other sport, practice makes perfect, so you can start with a beginner level and work your way up to more advanced training once you're got the hold of how things work.

Another big plus is the fact that you can do this sport inside or outside, depending on the weather conditions and that you really don't need much equipment for it and what you need you can easily hire.

Surfing

If you're looking for a sport where you'll use every body part and where you'll increase your strength and balance then you should definitely consider surfing. It's like a fun way to get yourself in shape while you're having fun, plus the beautiful ocean scenery is proven to reduce stress and improve mental health.

A beginner surfboard is a must if you decide to go for this sport. A surf costume is welcome but not necessary.

Mountain Biking

If you're looking for a sport that will push your workout routine and cardiovascular activity to a whole new level, then you should consider mountain biking. Like all sports, mountain biking has difficulty levels that require trial and error but once you know the basics you can always try new techniques and keep getting better at it.

The person that inspired me in choosing this sport is my friend Laura. She is an expert when it comes to mountain biking and she is such an inspiration.

Trail running

If you're looking for an intense workout and socializing at the same time than you might want to consider trail running. The first thing to do, especially if you are a beginner in trail running is to take it slow and listen to your body. Don't try to overdo it and try to a weekly schedule in order to keep track of your running. Another good tip is to run regularly, it's best to run 3 times small distances than one long-distance one time per week only.

Skiing

If you love to discover new and impressive mountain areas, breathtaking scenery and snow, then you should consider skiing. Skiing is a type of sport that requires the whole body to move, which will also help your muscle mass to grow. Skiing will help you to improve not only your leg and abdomen muscles but also your flexibility and balance and will motivate you to follow a healthier diet and lifestyle.

I don't know about you, but only thinking of these sports makes me feel pumped up with energy and ready to give them a shot. How about you? What are your must-try sports for 2021?
