Granfluencers - The Rising Stars of Social Media

It's no secret that the last two years have seen a significant rise in influencers. I mean, almost everyone has Internet access nowadays and a smartphone and we're all been through a quarantine where one of the most important sources of entertainment was social media, so why not?

It's strange and funny that when we hear the word "influencer" we automatically think of millennials or young Instagram models but in my opinion, this stereotype has come to an end thanks to the Granfluencers.

Now, Granfluencers are like all the other influencers that you're probably following, the only difference is that they're cool seniors that decided to share their talents and skills with the world and I'm here for it! Of course, like all the other influencers they dominate certain niches (fashion, lifestyle), they collaborate with brands and share their life on social media.

I have to admit, I knew a few of these Granfluencers, but this list was very cool and inspirational for me. I always love to discover new people to follow, especially people that I can learn from.

Now, I get asked a lot about how to become an influencer and to be honest, I never know how to answer this question. Maybe because I don't see myself as one? I honestly don't know, but I can always share some tips that might be helpful for someone.

Influencer Starter Guide

1. The first thing you should ask yourself is why do you want to become an influencer and what can you bring new to the table. As I said in the beginning, there are a lot of influencers out there, so you really have to have faith in your skills and come with something new and unique. Of course, on the niche that you choose for.

2. Invest in quality equipment. My niche has always been product photography and in order to get the best results, I always invested in the best camera, light and of course backdrops. Of course, everything is built in time, but a good camera is a must when you decide to become an influencer. 

3. Don't compare yourself to others! I did this mistake and it cost me a lot of sleepless nights. You're unique, your content is unique, so it has no point in doing this. You can always admire other people's work and get inspired by it, but never compare yourself to anyone.

4. Do this because you love it, not to get something from it! The right mindset will bring you further than you think! I saw a lot of influencers that were at the beginning and were struggling to get noticed by brands and so on. Don't be like that! Have faith in your work, enjoy the process and love every minute of it and you will see, then the real results will come!

These are a few tips that helped me keep my feet on the ground and keep doing what I love! Don't forget that you're never too old to do something that you love, so if your dream is to become a Granfluencer and share your passion with the world, don't let anything stop you from achieving it!
