With spring around the corner, it's time to think of the annual spring cleaning and to concentrate our attention on ways to give our home a fresh look. I don't know about you, but there's such a rewarding feeling to give your home a fresh look, it's like after a whole year, your home gets back to life and knowing you did that yourself it's like the cherry on top of the cake.

Now don't get me wrong, it's ok not to be able to change your whole house, for example, I choose one room that I want to change and decorate each year and then I focus my attention and budget there. This year I've decided to give my daughter's room a fresh look because it is the only room from the house that needed a makeover. Because I thought there were many parents like me, that would like to change their child's room, I thought it will be a good idea to give you a few tips on this matter. So here are a few tips to help you through the whole process. Enjoy!

Walls tell a story

wall stickers

First of all, in my opinion, the walls in your child's bedroom should tell a story. Remember that we are talking about a child's room and there the sky should be the limit. For my daughter's room, I went for a bright color, pastel pink and after that, we decided to look for some cool wall stickers. Why wall stickers? Because there's no better way to create a magical atmosphere in your child's room than that. You have a multitude of options to choose from, they are easy to apply and the result is simply fantastic!

Wait! There's more! You also have the option to create a trend custom sticker. That way, if you already have a special design or picture in mind, you can transform it into a sticker and use it as a decoration. Pretty impressive right?

The floor is important

The floor in your child's room is very important and should be chosen after several criteria like comfort, durability, cleanability and sound. With so many options available on the market you can choose one that will suit your wishes, your budget and most importantly, your child's room.

Color Furniture and Curtains

A child's bedroom isn’t a bedroom without furniture, right?  If your girl loves pink, like mine does, make sure that you go for items with hints of pink. Of course, we can't buy new furniture all the time, so in that case, you can always use what you already have but you can use a DIY project to give it a completely new look. As for curtains, go for something simple because you will have plenty of opportunities to decorate the room with other things and you don't want to overcrowd the room.

Storage

If there is something that matters to most kids, it is toys. They love toys of all kinds, but unfortunately, they just can’t keep them organised at their right places. Here is where the right storage items come into place. For my daughter's room, I used some really cute baskets that I labeled. I have all her stuffed toys on display because she wants to see them at all times, but the other toys are nicely organized and easy for her to reach for them every time she wants to play.

For our children, the world is full of fantasy and magic and we can help them develop their imagination by creating them the perfect place to play and sleep.
