5 tips to have an unforgetable Christmas

Yes, Christmas is just around the corner and I can’t even begin to tell you how happy that makes me! I love this time of the year, I think it’s magical and I plan to enjoy it to the maximum. Now that we have that settled, let’s talk more about Christmas and what this holiday means because if you think it’s just joy and cheer, you’re probably mistaken.

I think I don’t talk only about me when I say that even though I love this holiday, I think it’s one of the most stressful times ever. I mean, you have to stress about what gifts you have to buy and then hope that your loved ones will like them, stress over the Christmas party that has to be perfect and so on. Well, no more my friend! Let’s make this Christmas something to remember over the years and most importantly, stress-free. Are you with me? Let’s do this!

Set a budget

I think that’s the most important thing to do before you start spending money over a lot of things and soon realize that you’re broke. I’ve been there and it wasn’t ok, so I’ve learned it the hard way. Think of what gifts you want to buy, on how much you are willing to spend on decorations and for Christmas dinner. That way you won’t spend more than necessary and you will enjoy the holidays without any worries.

Don’t expect anything

Allow this Christmas season to be what it is without expectations or hopes for perfection. We are often disappointed when things don’t go “as planned” during the holidays, so plan loosely and remain open to change. Embrace the reality of life as being part of the season. I know it’s easier said than done but trust me, once you get rid of expectations things will be so much easier.

Imperfection is perfection

Sometimes we avoid inviting friends over during the holidays unless everything is perfect right the right meal, the house completely decorated and cleaned, a gift purchased. Let that go and enjoy spontaneous get-togethers to share a meal or simply some time together. Don’t miss connections waiting for perfection. Do you want to know a little secret? If you’re not in the mood to cook, or clean after and so on, why not just go out and enjoy a lovely Christmas day dinner? You get to enjoy amazing food, in a beautiful location with great company, so why not just go for it?

Enjoy the outdoors

It doesn’t matter where you live, in a cold or warm climate, spend time outside absorbing the natural beauty of this time of year. The smells, the sounds, the climate of December are all part of the joyful anticipation of Christmas. As you decorate for the season, bring some of the beauty from the outside into your home. Cut branches and holly berries to put on your mantle or in an arrangement. With a little imagination, everything is possible!

Make Christmas Day unforgettable

Instead of ripping into gifts and rushing through the morning, open gifts one-at-a-time. Enjoy each person’s pleasure of giving and receiving. Light candles, put on music, and intersperse gift opening with breakfast, laughter, and connection.

Now, tell me. What tips do you have for an unforgettable Christmas Day? Let’s share and make sure that everyone gets to enjoy this Christmas to the maximum!
