How To Plan The Perfect Birthday Party

birthday party

I don't know about you, but I always stress when I have to plan a birthday party. I always think, did I choose the right theme, is the cake ok, are the games that we are going to play ok for everyone and so on. In the end, it always works out and everyone is happy, but it requires a lot of preparation to get everything done till the last detail. Of course, I managed to perfect my birthday party planning in time and I thought I would share my tips with you, who knows maybe you're in the same situation and you need a hand. So, if you are looking for tips on how to have the perfect birthday party, you’re in the right place, my friend! Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy!

 Set a date

The date of the party doesn’t necessarily need to be on the exact day that the birthday is. For example, my daughter's birthday will be on a Monday this year when everybody works, so I decided to celebrate it one day earlier, on Sunday when everyone is free and they can easily attend.

Set a budget

I know that’s not exactly the nicest part, but it needs to be done. Think about how many people you want to invite, what the venue will be,  how much you want to spend on decorations and on the presents. I have to say that for her first birthday, I kept my budget quite high, but for her second one, I want to lower it a bit. You can still have a nice day and plan the perfect birthday party even if you’re on a budget, so don’t worry.

Pick a theme & don’t forget about the invitations

With children, it is very important that you set a theme for the birthday party. After that, you can look for decorations and think about the birthday cake. This year we decided to go for a candy theme. It sounded very fun when my daughter said this to me and I said, why not? She loves candy, she loves colors and I really think she made the right choice.

When it comes to a fun theme like this, the sky is the limit when it comes to decorations. Because you don't want to make the party too busy, I would go for pastel colors. They are softer for the eyes and look great in pictures too!

Since we are having a candy party, we have to have a candy bar and what candy is best for this? Yes, you guessed it, our childhood candy Swizzels

Their sweets are not only our favorite, but they're also delicious, so it really was an easy choice. They have a multitude of yummy sweets to choose from, but I decided to go with the tubs this time. I have a lot of flavors to choose from and I'm sure they will look fantastic near the cake. Of course, the party sweets also look appealing so we decided to offer them to the children when the party is over, like a small thank you gift.

As a little tip, Swizzels are also perfect as wedding favors! You can make some really cool DIY favors that will let your guests speechless!

Don’t forget about the cake!

The star of the show! Now, with the cake, there are two possibilities, either you make it yourself or you buy it. If you decided to buy it, make sure you pick the right bakery and the right cake model. You don't want to get it wrong, trust me. I will bake it myself because I love baking and making cakes (fingers crossed I can have my own little bakery one day).

Keep it simple!

This should be the golden rule for every birthday party. We all know the phrase, less is more, so don’t complicate yourself too much and try to have as much fun as you can.

These are the tips that work for me every time, but what are yours? You can let me know in the comment section below. Happy planning!
